Diagnosis: head 30-38% of SL. Eye more than 20% of head. Gillrakers 6-8 + 15-20. D II-III+ 10-12; A I + 8-10. Origin of anal fin about under middle of dorsal fin base. Size: about 5-6 cm SL (adults).
Habitat: bathypelagic; adults mainly below 400-500 m. Food: no data. Reproduction: no data.
Distribution: eastern Atlantic, Indo-Pacific, and eastern equatorial Pacific.
