Carcharodon A. Smith, 1838
Teeth broadly triangular with edges concave and coarsely serrated, without lateral cusplets, third upper tooth nearly as large as second and fourth; lower teeth smaller and more slender than uppers. First dorsal fin origin opposite or slightly anterior to inner corner of pectoral fins. Second dorsal fin origin in advance of anal fin origin. No secondary longitudinal keel below main caudal keel.
