Diagnosis: dorsal finrays 10. Colour: head and body with blue, darker-edged spots; blue lines radiate from eye; caudal with 6 7 bluish vertical bands. Size: to about 13 cm SL.

Distribution: from Morocco and southwards.

Note. According to Allen and Randall (1977) this species is probably
synonymous with C. rostrata.
