Diagnosis: dorsal finrays 64, anal finrays 43, pectoral finrays 22, ventral fins with one short ray in each. Vertebrae 13+32 (incl. ural centra). Developed gill rakers 15. Opercular spine well developed. Head pores few, only two along each mandible near symphysis.

Distribution: only known from the holotype caught in the Celtic Sea (48° N, 8° W).
