Diagnosis: predorsal length 45-50% SL. Anterior gill arch with 23-24 long rakers. Vomer with 11 and each dentary with 8-11 fangs. Dorsal finrays 72-75; anal finrays 63-65. Colour: unpigmented except for a few pigment spots in body musculature and on peritoneum. Size: to 83 mm SL.

Habitat: abyssal depths Food: no data. Reproduction: viviparous.

Distribution: two specimens known: one from 34°54.6' N, 11°40.0' W and one from the western Atlantic Ocean.
