Diagnosis: see genus. Dl VI; D2 I + 14; A I + 12; P 19. Scales in lateral series about 65-70. Vertebrae 28. Colour: somewhat translucent pale fawn, with numerous melanophores over the head and body. Size.
to 3.65 cm (holotype).

Habitat, Food, Reproduction: no data, probably cryptobenthic.

Distribution: the holotype (female) was trawled on muddy sand in 36.6 m off the River Rubin (31°55' N, 34°42' E) on the Mediterranean coast of Israel. No further specimens.

Eggs, larvae and young stages. No data.
Otoliths (sagitta). No data.
