Diagnosis (females): Escal bulb without membranous anterior crest; distal escal appendage a slender stalk, with an elongate prolongation emerging anteriorly from base of escal hooks, bearing numerous lateral serrations or filaments; posterior escal appendage emerging from below escal pore laterally compressed, distal margin rounded. Other characters as for genus and family.

Distribution: known from four specimens collected on both sides of the North Atlantic and one additional record from off the Hawaiian Islands in the Central North Pacific.
