Diagnosis: esca of females with a tapering, internally pigmented antenor appendage, two to more than three times length of escal bulb with a pair of short filaments near tip; three groups of medial filaments; a compressed crescent-shaped posterior appendage; a branched filament on each side of escal bulb.

Distribution: all oceans; inside Clofnam area a single record from Irish Atlantic slope.
