Diagnosis: females with short illicium (11-23% SL) and long escal appendages (4-9% SL); other characters as for genus.
Habitat. Food, Reproduction: see suborder.
Distribution: all oceans, in Clofnam area recorded from off Gibraltar to about 55° N.
