Brotulotaenia Parr, 1933
Long slender body. Median basibranchial tooth patches absent. Gillrakers formed as tooth-bearing tubercles. Pelvic fins absent. Scales in the form of small, non-imbricate prickles.
Occurs meso- and upper bathypelagically in tropical waters. Oviparous.
