Genus Ctenochirichthys

Ctenochirichthys Regan and Trewavas, 1932

Distinct from other oneirodids in having extremely elongate pectoral fin lobe with 28-30 finrays along dorsal margin. Suboperculum elongate, upper end blunt; females with very short sphenotic and articular spines; esca without filamentous appendages, a low papilliform anterior appendage and a laterally compressed, tapering posterior appendage.
