Mirognathus Parr, 1951

Body elongate. Snout pointed; eye small and at about midpoint of head; jaws long, reaching to below eye. Pyloric caeca 2. Dorsal and anal fins approximately equal and opposite each other, their origins somewhat behind midpoint of body; pectoral fins reduced or absent.
Bathypelagic at 2,000-3,000 m.
