Bajacalifornia Townsend and Nichols, 1925

Body elongate. Head moderate; eye large; a single series of small teeth in each jaw; lower jaw with a conical knob at its tip, underneath, pointing downward. Pyloric caeca 11-26. Dorsal fin origin in advance of anal fin origin; dorsal finrays 14-19, pectoral finrays 12-17, pelvic finrays 7-9 (plus a splint bone), anal finrays 13-16. Scales present. Vertebrae 26-39 + 18-23 = 50-60.
Bathypelagic or engybenthic in deepwater.
