Parataeniophorus Bertelsen and Marshall, 1956
In addition to the greater number of pelvic finrays, distinct from Eutaeniophorus in having body moderately elongate, snout to origin of dorsal and anal fins 67-74% SL; length of caudal peduncle 12-16% SL (caudal streamer incomplete in all known specimens more than 15 mm).
Species 2; in Clofnam area 1 (the other known only by a single specimen from Indian Ocean).
