Genus Halobatrachus

Halobatrachus Ogilby, 1908

Body robust, head large; eyes on top of head, but widely separated; mouth large, lower jaw prominent, teeth strong. The first dorsal fin with 3 short spines. Scales present. No venom glands associated with dorsal or opercular spines. Benthic in shallow waters, often buried.
