Lepidotrigla Gunther, 1860
Head with a deep occipital groove (fissure across top of head behind eyes). Anterior edge of first dorsal spine serrated. Body scales large, less than 70 along a longitudinal series.
Tropical and warm temperate seas. Benthic on continental shelf.
