Bathysolea Roule, 1916
Anterior nostril on blind side not enlarged. Dorsal fin beginning on upper profile of head before vertical through front of upper eye; pectoral fin on eyed side with 4-5 finrays, all unbranched. Supra-temporal branch of lateral line not very distinct; scales rectangular, inter-canalicular striae a little sinuous, longer than width of intercanalicular zone (Solea type).
