Lycodonus Goode and Bean, 1883

Body very elongate, round in cross-section, its depth about 3.3-4.5% TL at anal origin. Nostril-like pores around mouth and breathing valves well developed; branchiostegal rays 5. Bony plates along bases of dorsal and anal fins (outgrowths from tips of interneurals and interhaemals). Pelvic fins present, small.
