Pomadasys Lacepède, 1802

Common synonym: Rhonciscus Jordan and Evermann, 1896.

2 pores on chin followed by a median groove or pit. Preopercle concave, finely serrated. Mouth rather small, maxilla not reaching beyond front of orbit. Teeth in jaws only, in several rows, pointed, outer series enlarged. Vertebrae 26.
