Chaenophryne Regan, 1925
Distinct from other oneirodids in having operculum only slightly concave posteriorly (deeply notched in all other ceratioids); suboperculum elongate, upper end pointed; females lacking sphenotic spines; males non-parasitic. Largest females 170 mm, largest males 15-16.5 mm.
