Genus Lepadogaster

Lepadogaster Gouan, 1770

Body depressed anteriorly; head elongated in dorsal outline, snout produced and rounded. Head depressed, length 2.2-2.6 and width 3.0-4.3 times in SL. Teeth small, conical, recurved, in deep patches towards front of each jaw, narrowing to single row along sides of jaws, larger than those at front. On third gill arch 7-10 shallow, blunt rakers. Median fins long. Dorsal finrays 13-21; anal finrays 9-12; caudal finrays 10-14; pectoral finrays 20-29. Disc medium to large, length 3.2-4.3 times in SL.
