Genus Anarchias

Anarchias Jordan and Starks, 1906

Body very elongate, rather slender, scaleless. Head short; anterior nostril tubular, posterior nostril a small pore adjacent to the last supra-orbital pore and separated only by a septum. Teeth conical, strong on jaws and vomer. Gill openings restricted to a small, roundish, lateral pore. Dorsal and anal fins rudimentary, confined to posterior end of body; pectoral and pelvic fins absent.
