Galeus Rafinesque, 1810Clofnam 11.3

Snout longer than width across the mouth, its mucous pores not conspicuous; a labial furrow present on lower jaw, around corner of mouth and on to upper jaw; nostrils widely separated from mouth; longitudinal fold below eye present or absent. Two dorsal fins, the first originating over rear part of pelvic fins; a distinct crest of enlarged and modified denticles along margin of anterior part of caudal, bounded below by a narrow band of naked skin on either side.
