Genus Heptranchias

Heptranchias Rafinesque, 1810

Gill-slits 7, broadly separated on throat; upper and lower teeth dissimilar, those in lower jaw comb-like. Benthic, usually in deeper tropical seas; uncommon and of no commercial importance.
