Genus Himantura

Himantura Muller and Henle, 1837

Snout moderately produced; disc oval to rhomboid, tail long, much longer than disc length, tapering to a filament, without membranous folds, but sometimes a ridge below (originating below spine). Upper surfaces sparsely or densely covered with flattened, pavement-like tubercles (shagreen).
