Diagnosis: rings 19-21 + 38-41, D 32-42, P 12-14, total subdorsal rings 7-10. Snout length about half of head length; median dorsal post-orbital part of head somewhat elevated. Colour: mottled brown, banded with pale; ventral surface pale; dorsal fin sometimes with dark spots. Size: to about 30 cm TL.
