Diagnosis: snout bluntly rounded to subtriangular. Teeth erect anteriorly, oblique posteriorly, smooth-edged, posterior teeth with cusplets on outer margin. Eyes slightly oval. Spiracle present behind and lateral to eye. Origin of first dorsal fin over free pectoral fin tip; second dorsal fin similar to first, but smaller; pectoral fins short, posterior margin deeply concave; pre-caudal pits present above and below. Colour: grey to bronze above, white below. Size: to 138 cm TL, mature at 80-90 cm TL.

Habitat: coastal species. Food: primarily fish. Reproduction: probably viviparous, number of young unknown, pups born at 35-45 cm TL.

Distribution: western equatorial Africa, but may stray north into Clofnam area.
