Lasiognathus Regan, 1925
Distinct from the other genus of the family in having a narrow head, pterygiophore of illicium more than 60% SL emèrging on dorsal side of head, its posterior end exposed in retracted position; esca with 3 denticles; skin naked; D 5; A 5. Males and larvae unknown. Largest record 97.5 mm.
