Batrachoidiformes
Batrachoidiformes have borad an flattened heads, usuallly with flaps and barbels. The eyes are high on the head, almost dorsal. Mouth large, bordered by the maxillaries and premaxillaries. Gill membrane broadly joined to the isthmus. Two dorsal fins, the first with 2-3 strong sharp spines, sometimes poisonous. the pelvic fins are jugular. They consist of one spine and 2-3 soft rays. the body is naked or covered with small cycloid scales.
