Apterichthus Dumeril, 1806
(including Verma Jordan and Evermann, 1896; Clofnam 86.6)
Body very elongate, cylindrical, pointed at both ends. Anterior nostril tubular, opening before level of premaxillary teeth; posterior nostril a horizontally ovate slit outside of mouth, on the ridge of or over upper lip. Teeth pointed, uniserial in jaws, largest at premaxillary. All fins absent.
