Apristurus Garman, 1913
Snout longer than width across the mouth; lower surface of snout with a very conspicuous mucous pore system; a labial furrow present on upper and lower jaw and around corner of mouth; nasal barbels absent; nostrils widely separated from mouth; flaps present on posterior and upper margins of nostrils; no fold below eye. Two dorsal fins, the first considerably behind the origin of pelvic fins.
