Bathymicrops Hjort and Koefoed, 1912
Very similar to Bathytyphlops except as follows: gillrakers of typical long, blade-like form; ventral fins inserted far in advance of dorsal fin fewer than 19 principal caudal finrays (15-18); head short, only 12-17% SL; body very attenuate.
Benthic at abyssal depths (4,250-5,900 m). Known from the southwestern Pacific, the Atlantic and Indian Oceans. Feeding on benthic and benthopelagic crustacea. Hermaphroditic (Nielsen, 1966). Larva is unknown. No commercial importance.
