Microchirus Bonaparte, 1833
Anterior nostril on blind side not enlarged. Dorsal fin beginning onupper profile of head before vertical through front border of upper eye; pectoral fin on eyed side small, on blind side reduced. Supra-temporal branch of lateral line not very distinct, forming an S-shape; scales more or less rectangular, intercanalicular striae strongly curved, shorter than width of intercanalicular zone (Dicologlossa type).
Subdivided in two subgenera, Microchirus and Zevaia.
