Sub-orbital papillae in 5 transverse rows, plus papilla near pore a; 3 before, none below longitudinal row b. No row a. Anterior oculoscapular head canal present, lacking pore between b and a and p, and with only one inter-orbital pore (l/k); posterior oculoscapular and preopercular canals absent. Predorsal area and head naked. Anterior nostril tubular, short, without process from rim. First dorsal rays Vl; first ray most elongate of first dorsal finrays. Pectoral fin uppermost rays not free from membrane. Pelvic disc with emarginate rear edge, anterior membrane about half length of spinous ray in midline depth. Vertebrae 27. Scales ctenoid; upper and lower scales on caudal base without elongate lateral ctenii.
Smallest Mediterranean gobiid, known only from type locality.
