Genus Prognathodes

Prognathodes Gill, 1862

Body compressed, snout produced. Dorsal spines very long and strong, 13. The ocular band always begins from the first two dorsal spines and below the eye falls obliquely forward, being sometimes parallel with the upper profile of snout.
