Dolichopteryx Brauer, 1901
Body elongate, sub-cylindrical in cross-section. Eyes tubular, probably all species with an accessory eye resembling a photophore. No pearly accessory corneal bodies. Vomerine teeth in two or more rows. Vertebrae 40-52. Some species apparently neotenic.
See family for biology. Rarely collected, perhaps due to extreme fragility, as most specimens taken are damaged.
Species 6 or more; in Clofnam area 1.
