Anguilliformes
Anguilliformes are eellike fishes. No pelvic fins or girdle. Fused vomer, premaxillae and ethoid. Toothed maxillae are included in the gape. All Anguilliformes have a compressed and transparent larval form ("glass eels"), the leptocephalous form. This form may grow up to several feet in length, and may last for years.
